Associate Professor Dhanusha Sabanathan is a Consultant Medical Oncologist in the Breast service at Lakeside Specialist Breast Clinic and Nepean Cancer Care Centre. She also holds an academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University. Her clinical practice and research are devoted to the treatment of breast cancer with a personalised holistic approach using the latest evidence based medicine.
After graduating in Medicine from the University of New South Wales, A/Prof Sabanathan completed her specialty training in Medical Oncology at the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Care Centre. A/Prof Sabanathan completed her Post Graduate Fellowship in Clinical Trials at Westmead Hospital and Macquarie University. During this training she has specialised in early phase trials and has also completed a Masters of Research. She has recently submitted her PhD thesis looking at a Phase I trial in advanced solid tumors. She has also completed a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney. She is widely published and has presented her work at national and international meetings.
A/Prof Sabanathan is a member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and an active member of the Breast Cancer Trials Group, Australia. A/Prof Sabanathan is committed to ensuring high quality research findings are translated into clinical practice and her team pride themselves on providing optimal personalised care.
