Dr Michael Stening is a specialist in hip and knee replacements and reconstruction, shoulder surgery and paediatric orthopaedics.
After graduating from University Of Sydney in 1997 with MBBS, Dr Stening commenced surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred gaining entry to the Orthopaedic Surgeon training scheme Sydney Northside.
Dr Stening has been in clinical practice since 1999 as Visiting Medical Officer at Hawkesbury Hospital Windsor and Sydney Childrens Randwick. He also has visiting rights at Norwest Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital and more recently at Lakeview Private Hospital. Dr Stening has a busy clinical practice specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty.
Dr Stening has developed a particular interest in anterior minimally invasive hip replacement and patient specific knee replacement surgery. He is actively involved in teaching Orthopaedic trainees having been supervisor of training at both Sydney Childrens and Hawkesbury Hospitals and recently appointed to Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Court of Examiners, the peak examining body of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
He is current Head of Orthopaedics at St John of God Hawkesbury District Hospital and immediate Past President of the Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.
