Dr Smith has been in practice since 2010, and is a dual Australian and South African trained ENT Head and Neck Surgeon. He operates in Private practice in Western Sydney and provides public care at Westmead Public Hospital where he is involved in training of Specialist Registrars in ENT.
Dr Smith qualified as an Optometrist in 1994, and in 1995 completed his MCO(UK). In 1998 he returned to Medicine, graduating from the University of New South Wales in Australia in 2003. Post graduate work included Medical Officer posts in Cardiothoracic surgery, Neurosurgery, and Anaesthetics (he obtained his Diploma in Anaesthtetics in 2006) before commencing his specialist training in ENT the same year.
In 2010 he completed his first Specialist ENT Fellowship (FCORL in South Africa). He spent the following 7 years working as a Consultant ENT Surgeon with his time divided across public and private work: he held the position of Acting Clinical Head in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at King Edward VIII Academic Hospital.
In 2018 Dr Smith and his family returned to Australia. He spent 4 years undertaking post-graduate clinical fellowships in Thyroid, Head and Neck, and Rhinological Surgery before completing his second Specialist Fellowship exams for Admission to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons – FRACS(OHNS).
Dr Smith provides a comprehensive ENT service. He consults in Bella Vista and Penrith and provides surgical services at Lakeview Private Hospital in Norwest.
