Lakeview Private Hospital recognised for its impressive culture
November saw Lakeview Private Hospital complete its 2018 accreditation review with Global Mark against the 10 National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards.
Lakeview Private passed over 250 criteria, with only 3 small opportunities identified for improvement.
The respect shown between colleagues and to patients was received in the November review
“In addition to this impressive pass rate, Lakeview Private was also received for ‘met with merit’ in multiple areas,” said General Manager Rosemary McDonald. “This is a huge achievement as it is not a common occurrence that these are awarded, especially in such a young organisation. This is an absolutely outstanding result and I couldn’t be more proud of our team.”

The National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards were developed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare with the Australian Government, state and territory partners, consumers and the private sector. The primary aim of the NSQHS Standards is to protect the public from harm and improve the quality of health care. They describe the level of care that should be provided by health service organisations and the systems that are needed to deliver such care. Lakeview Private Hospital and other health service organisations are subsequently subject to an annual accreditation review to ensure they comply with National Standards.
The November 2018 accreditation review of Lakeview Private Hospital took place over a period of 2 days. The surveyors provided very positive feedback and made particular mention of the excellent work carried out by the Lakeview Private Hospital Quality Manager, Sally Holmes.
Comments made by the assessors at the closing meeting of Lakeview Private’s last two accreditation reviews have been very impressive and have included the following:
- Philosophy ‘Patients First’ is evident through talking to all the staff and the managers truly believe in it.
- Annual mandatory training programs and compliance were outstanding
- Staff “so open, so enthusiastic”
- Education have clearly worked very hard and have done great work
- 100% met all core items
- It was a complete pleasure to appraise Lakeview Private Hospital. It’s an amazing Hospital.
