Dr Dhanusha Sabanathan is a Consultant Medical Oncologist in the Breast service at Lakeside Specialist Breast Clinic and Nepean Cancer Care Centre. She also holds an academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University. Her clinical practice and research are devoted to the treatment of breast cancer with a personalised holistic approach using the latest evidence based medicine.
After graduating in Medicine from the University of New South Wales, Dr Sabanathan completed her specialty training in Medical Oncology at the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Care Centre. Dr Sabanathan completed her Post Graduate Fellowship in Clinical Trials at Westmead Hospital and Macquarie University. During this training she has specialised in early phase trials and has also completed a Masters of Research. She has recently submitted her PhD thesis looking at a Phase I trial in advanced solid tumors. She has also completed a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney. She is widely published and has presented her work at national and international meetings.
Dr Sabanathan is a member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and an active member of the Breast Cancer Trials Group, Australia. Dr Sabanathan is committed to ensuring high quality research findings are translated into clinical practice and her team pride themselves on providing optimal personalised care.
