Admission Day

Operating Delays

In the event of a delay, every effort will be made to ensure that you are not inconvenienced. If possible, we will inform you of any delays before you leave home so you can delay your departure.

If you do encounter an unavoidable delay when you arrive, we will keep you updated and keep you as comfortable as possible. Please reach out to our friendly staff if you have any questions or concerns during this time.

Your surgeon is in charge of the order of surgeries.

Your Valuables

We highly recommend that you do not bring any high end valuables with you. This includes bank cards, jewellery, large amounts of cash (including any payment owed to specialists) or other valuables, as the hospital cannot accept responsibility for them. If you bring a mobile phone, this needs to be switched off before your surgery. There will be a telephone available at your bedside in the ward.

Lakeview Private Hospital takes no responsibility for your mobile phone or any valuables.
Any valuables that you do bring will be at your own risk.

Bear in mind, you may want to use your mobile while waiting for your procedure and have enough money to purchase from the cafe, if not fasting.

What to wear for surgery

  • We recommend you shower and wear comfortable, loose clothes and shoes.
  • No deodorant or perfume to be worn.
  • We ask that you remove all jewellery, makeup and nail polish before your arrival. This includes all body jewellery of any type.
  • Wedding rings can be taped if you do not wish to remove them.

Arriving on time

Arriving on time on the day is important. If you arrive too early, you will have a prolonged wait. Please bear in mind that your admission time will be earlier than your actual procedure time.

The Hospital Process

When you arrive, please go straight to the Admissions area, to the right of reception. This is where you will complete your financial paperwork and pay your account, if required.
From there, you will go to the waiting area in Theatres, to wait for your procedure.

Support Person

You may have one support person or carer to accompany you to the Theatre waiting area, if required. They will only be allowed to accompany you this far.
