Urology Specialist

General urology, laparoscopic and robotic urologic cancer surgery

Dr Arianayagam is a Urological Surgeon who treats cancers and other disorders of the urinary system, specialising in bladder cancer surgery and minimally invasive surgery for cancers of the kidney. He also helps patients with general urology problems.

Dr Arianayagam completed his Urology training in New South Wales at Port Macquarie, Westmead and Prince of Wales Hospitals.

After completion of the Urology Fellowship examinations in October 2008, further training was undertaken at the Miller School of Medicine, Department of Urology, at The University of Miami, Florida, USA from July 2009 to June 2011 as a Urologic Oncology Fellow. Fellowship to the American Society of Urologic Oncology was awarded at the completion of this two year training period.

He primarily treats patients with urological cancers (prostate, kidney, bladder and adrenal) but also performs surgery for the treatment of kidney stones and urinary problems due to an enlarged prostate. He also routinely performs minor procedures like circumcision and vasectomy.

Dr Arianayagam is the training supervisor at Nepean Hospital and chairs the Robotic committee that oversees robotic surgery at Nepean Hospital. In addition, he also chairs the Genitourinary Oncology Multidisciplinary Team.

Dr Arianayagam works at both public (Nepean & Hawkesbury) and private hospitals (Lakeview Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, Maquarie University Hospital, Nepean Private Hospital & Chris O’Brien Lifehouse)
