Keeping it Green

At Lakeview Private Hospital, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through innovative recycling programs and sustainability initiatives.

Here are some key areas where we have achieved the following:

Recycling of Medical Waste

Sequential Compression Device (SCD) Sleeves:
In collaboration with Cardinal Health, we now recycle SCD sleeves.  These are sleeves which help prevent deep vein thrombosis. This initiative diverts nearly 10,000 SCD sleeves from landfill annually.
Intravenous Therapy (IVT) Bags:
By recycling used IVT bags, we have eliminated the disposal of 17,000 bags per year into waste landfill.

Reduction of Single-Use Plastics

Reduction of Single-Use Plastics

Patient Water Bottles:
The reintroduction of reusable jugs for patients has significantly reduced our plastic waste. This initiative has cut down the use of over 52,000 single-use water bottles annually. Patients now have the option of enjoying still or sparkling water in eco-friendly jugs.
Medication Storage Trays:
Switching from single-use trays to reusable ones for medication storage has prevented approximately 30,000 disposable trays from ending up in landfill each year.

Renewable Energy

Solar Panels:
Installed in 2023, our solar panels have significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions. This renewable energy source helps us minimize our carbon footprint and contributes to a cleaner environment.

We are dedicated to continuously finding new ways to lessen our impact on the climate. We believe that every step towards sustainability, no matter how small, makes a difference.

Together, we can create a healthier planet for future generations.
