Dr Dip Raj Rai is a specialist General Surgeon and Breast & Endocrine Surgeon who practises at Lakeview Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital.
Dr Rai completed his General Surgical training at Westmead Hospital and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in 2018. He subsequently worked as a General Surgical Clinical Superintendent and General Surgeon at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.
He then completed two years of accredited fellowship training in Breast and Endocrine Surgery through Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand (BreastSurgANZ), undertaking his first year at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand and his second year at Nepean Hospital in Sydney.
Originally from Nepal, Dr Rai achieved a full scholarship to study medicine at Sylhet Osmani Medical College in Bangladesh. He later worked in surgical specialties in Kathmandu and the United Kingdom, where he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS), before continuing his surgical career in Australia.
Dr Rai is a member of BreastSurgANZ and General Surgeons Australia (GSA) and holds Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) accreditation in diagnostic endoscopy and colonoscopy.
