Dr Mark Boccola is a specialist Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with a practice focused on the comprehensive management of obesity. Circle of Care has been part of the North-West Sydney medical community for over 20 years, providing specialist bariatric surgery supported by an in-house allied health program.
His suite of operations includes sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and revisional bariatric procedures, as well as surgery for associated conditions including hiatus hernia, abdominal wall hernia and gallstone disease. He also provides excess skin removal for medical indications after significant weight loss.
Dr Boccola has developed an integrated approach to long-term weight management through the Circle of Care program, which provides an in-house specialised allied health team to support patients throughout their long-term weight management journey. The practice is integrated with GLP-1 medical weight-loss treatment through the Beyond Program, which provides GLP-1 prescribing alongside allied health support for patients, including those who require additional treatment following weight-loss surgery.
Dr Boccola graduated in Medicine from the University of Newcastle and completed specialist surgical training before undertaking post-fellowship training in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery through ANZGOSA and ANZMOSS. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
His approach is centred on providing comprehensive, long-term care rather than viewing bariatric surgery as a single procedure, supporting patients from their initial treatment through to life after weight loss.
