Dr Laniewski is an Australian born and trained plastic surgeon. In addition to his Australian fellowships in plastic surgery and general surgery, he holds a fellowship from the prestigious Royal Marsden Hospital in London in breast reconstruction. While his expertise lies in DIEP flap and implants, breast reconstruction and all types of breast surgery, he also has a special interest in rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation and facelift surgery.
His aim is to provide women with all options for breast reconstruction, from tissue expansion to autologous breast reconstruction, particularly DIEP flaps; as well as attending to the contralateral breast to provide symmetry where necessary. Despite the perceived differences between cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, the same knowledge of applied anatomy and surgical technique pertain equally to both disciplines.
Dr Laniewski is a surgeon at Lakeview Private Hospital; and holds public appointments as a Visiting Medial Officer (VMO) at the Princess Mary Cancer Centre and Breast Cancer Institute at Westmead Hospital. His other practice locations include Albury and Erina.
Dr Laniewski also has a large skin cancer practice with particular expertise in reconstructing facial defects following excision of all types of skin cancer. His expertise extends to aesthetic breast surgery including breast lift, breast reduction and breast augmentation; as well as facial aesthetic surgery, rhinoplasty, otoplasty and body contouring surgery. He also has a continuing interest in all aspects of hand surgery, including carpal tunnel release, dupuytrens contracture, hand fractures and trauma to the hand, including nerve and vessel damage.
