One of those people is Charlmagne Piolo, known to her colleagues as Min, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Endoscopy at Lakeview.
A career in Endoscopy at Lakeview
Min joined Lakeview Private Hospital in 2017 as a procedural nurse in Endoscopy. Since then, her commitment to patient care, clinical practice and professional development has seen her progress to the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist in Endoscopy.
Alongside her position at Lakeview, Min also serves as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) in Endoscopy at Blacktown Hospital, further contributing her knowledge and experience within the specialty.
Continuing professional development
Min completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Gastroenterology Nursing in 2022 and is currently completing her Master’s in Quality and Safety in Health Care.
Her continued professional development reflects a strong focus on clinical practice, patient safety and quality improvement within healthcare.
Contributing to gastroenterology nursing
Min’s contribution extends beyond her clinical roles.
She is an active committee member of GENCA NSW and a facilitator for the GENCA Reprocessing Fundamentals course, supporting education and professional development within gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing.
Most recently, Min was recognised by GENCA with the Best Writer Award for her article, “Effectiveness of Mobile Health Applications in Improving Patient Comprehension and Adherence to Bowel Preparation.”
Her work explores an important aspect of the patient experience — how digital health tools may support patient understanding and adherence when preparing for an endoscopy procedure.
