Lakeview Private Hospital was pleased to be represented at Westmead Hospital Week by Hospital Liaison Officer Mitch and Rehabilitation Manager Mark.
The event provided an opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals, industry partners and organisations from across the sector, while exploring how stronger public–private collaboration can support healthcare delivery across Western Sydney.
Exploring practical opportunities for collaboration
During Hospital Week, Mitch and Mark attended a range of sessions relevant to Lakeview, including discussions relating to orthopaedics, while also exploring opportunities across broader clinical and operational areas.
A key focus was how private hospital capacity can complement the public health system to support patient flow, timely access to care and continuity across the patient journey.
Potential models discussed included public operating lists, day surgery, collaborative overnight bed arrangements and integrated rehabilitation pathways.
Lakeview’s combination of surgical and rehabilitation services provides opportunities to support patients at different stages of their care—from treatment and surgery through to structured rehabilitation and recovery.
Connecting across the healthcare sector
Hospital Week also provided an opportunity to meet with medical companies, exhibitors and other healthcare partners.
These conversations offered valuable insight into products, technologies and services across the sector, while strengthening relationships within the wider healthcare community.
For Lakeview, collaboration extends beyond individual clinical streams. It is about identifying practical ways our facilities, services and multidisciplinary teams can work alongside public healthcare providers to create additional capacity and coordinated pathways of care.
Supporting a more connected health system
Strong public–private partnerships are built on communication, collaboration and a shared focus on patient outcomes.
Lakeview Private Hospital is committed to continuing these conversations and exploring partnership models that support public hospitals, healthcare professionals and the communities we collectively serve.
By working together, we can help create greater capacity, improved access and stronger continuity of care—ensuring patients can access the right care at the right time.
