Cardiologist

Diagnostic and Procedural Cardiology

Dr Shalaby is a Diagnostic and Procedural Cardiologist with an interest in cardiac pacing and cardiac imaging. In particular he has expertise in the use of device therapy in the management of Heart failure. He is the foundation member of our expanding Cardiac team.

He completed dual training in Cardiology and Intensive care medicine in 2007. He went on to train in cardiac device implantation. He is currently accredited in device implantation in a number of public and private Hospitals around Sydney including Nepean, Norwest Private, San and Macquarie University Hospitals. He also performs diagnostic coronary angiography, transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE).Dr Shalabyhas also completed training in Cardiac CT angiography.

Dr Shalaby is involved in medical teaching of doctors and medical students. He has held a number of past and present roles, and is currently the Network Director of Physician Training for the Nepean Hospital. He also is a Senior lecturer for the University of Sydney, Macquarie University and University of Notre Dame Medical Schools.

Dr Shalaby maintains an interest in Critical Care medicine. He is currently the Director of Intensive Care/ High Dependency Unit at Hawkesbury Hospital and is involved in a number of quality control and governance committees at Hawkesbury hospital.

He is committed to staying up to date with the latest developments in the care of the cardiac patient and technological advances in cardiac device therapy. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society.
