Lakeview is currently recruiting the following positions:

CNE Theatres – Full Time or Part Time

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to work on a permanent full time basis in our operating theatres. The CNE will predominantly focus on education however there is the requirement to undertake shifts as required.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Development and management of mandatory education and orientation program
  • Clinical support and ongoing education of nurses
  • Assessments of nurses using clinical competencies
  • Maintaining a training register for Theatres
  • Assisting with development of policies and procedures
  • Promoting best practice through staff development and education
  • Identify needs for in-service education and liaise with educators and managers to facilitate

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • High attention to detail
  • Relevant Post graduate qualification plus 3 years’ experience working in the clinical specialty/area    OR
  • A minimum of 4 years post basic registration experience, including 3 years’ experience in the relevant specialist field
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Strong organisational skills

The following criteria is desirable but not essential:

  • Completed Preceptorship Program
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment

Ward Clerk – (Maternity Leave Relief)  – 3 days per week

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated person to join our Day Surgery department in the of in the position of Ward Clerk. The role is a backfill maternity relief position and therefore casual for a period of 12 months. There may be opportunities for the role to become permanent.

The working days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with shifts being either am or pm.

Candidates will need to comply with our immunisation policy which means candidates will need to demonstrate immunity against TB, Measles, Diptheria, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus and the Mumps. Employees must demonstrate they have immunity before they will be considered for a role.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Undertake fund checks and booking and changing of appointments for patients admitted to our day surgery
  • Contributing to the overall customer service experience of the patients.
  • Maintaining a high standard of administration support which includes stationary supplies, record keeping, accurate data entry and printing of admission packs.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of ward clerk (office) administration
  • Must meet the immunisation requirements as per above requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in a medical setting, preferably a similar role in a Hospital environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information into the patient information system
  • Computer Literacy
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Experience with epas preferable.

RNs – Scrub/Scouts 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years experience in Theatres
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
  • Must currently work in the OT setting with a minimum 2 years of experience. Must be familiar with scouting for multiple case types e.g. ortho, gynae, colorectal, bariatrics, general etc
  • Experience in ICU, Emergency, or HDU will be highly regarded as well as Current Advance Life Support training
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; the ability to engage positively with all stakeholders

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards

RNs Surgical Ward – Permanent and Casual

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to work on a casual or permanent basis in our Surgical Ward. In this role, you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Department Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Shift Leaders to ensure a high standard of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values of putting ‘Patients First’.

Essential Criteria

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA and minimum of 4 – 5 years’ experience in a Surgical Ward/Unit.
  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in the daily practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • The ability to work independently and within a team structure.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards and a commitment to work within the interdisciplinary team.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification in clinical nursing will be highly regarded.

Occupational Therapist / Part Time (New Grad or 1-2 yrs exp)

An  opportunity exists for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to work on a part time basis during the week.  We are looking for candidates who are either newly graduated or within 1 – 2 years experience.  The role will initially be for 3 days per week but has potential to increase mid year.

 Essential criteria

  • Team player- proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Desirable criteria

  • FIM Accredited.
  • Previous experience in rehabilitation setting.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting a range of functional assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting home visit assessments and prescribing home modifications.
  • Experience in PADL retraining and prescribing equipment/aids.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting a range of standardised cognitive assessments.
  • Experience planning discharges for non-weight and partial weight bearing status.

RNs – Endoscopy 

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to work on a casual or  permanent basis in our Endoscopy department.

Essential Criteria

    • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
    • Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in Endoscopy or a Day Surgery Unit predominantly involving Endoscopy.
    • Be accustomed with the different procedures in Endoscopy.
    • A comprehensive understanding of the function, use, care, maintenance and trouble shooting of the different types and models of Flexible Endoscopes, and Automated Flexible Endoscopic Reprocessors.
    • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
    • The completion of (or working towards) HICMR or GENCA Fundamental of Reprocessing Workshop including the Practical Skills Assessment.
    • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
    • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing or Gastroenterology Nursing will be highly regarded.

RNS Anaesthetic and Recovery

  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience in Recovery, Anaesthetics or Theatres.

  • Highly regarded – Graduate Certificate in Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing or working towards
  • Experience in ICU, Emergency, or HDU will be highly regarded as well as Current Advance Life Support training
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded.

Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses – Rehab Ward – Casual

Opportunities currently exist for experienced Registered  Nurses and Enrolled Nurses to work on a casual basis in our Rehabilitation department. Our Rehab ward is a 36 bed facility providing in-patient rehabilitation to orthopaedic patients who had an elective surgery (knees, hips, and spine). The ward also provide acute pain management and reconditioning rehab programmes.

Mandatory Qualification:

  • Minimum 4 years Orthopaedic Sub-Acute Rehab  or Acute Medical Surgical experience
  • Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
  • Able to take rotating shifts & must be available weekdays, weekends & public holidays
  • Strong passion for annual mandatory compliances and education competencies
  • Above average Nursing knowledge and advanced Clinical Nursing skills
  • An effective communicator with high proficiency of written and spoken English
  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Team player, collaborative, and with pleasing personality
  • Positive with “Can do” attitude

Desirable Criteria:

  • FIM Accredited
  • Advance Life Support Licensed
  • Knowledgeable with wound assessment and interventions
  • Proficient with Waterlow Pressure Risk Assessment and Falls Risk Assessment

Volunteers are an important part of our team at Lakeview Private Hospital. With a deep commitment to the philosophy of Patients First, Lakeview Private Hospital seeks to create an exceptional and seamless patient experience. We are currently looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who can live out this philosophy. Some of the duties include coordinating reading material, assisting with flower arrangements and simply providing company.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age, provide at least two references and complete a Working with Children Check as part of the application process. Volunteer experience in a similar role will be looked on favorably although it is not essential.

During the COVID period our volunteer program is suspended. When restrictions ease we will reopen our application process for prospective volunteers.
