the following roles:

Cancer Care Coordinator  

We are launching our new Cancer Care and Infusion Centre in 2025. We are looking for an experienced Cancer Care Coordinator to lead the clinical and operational aspects of the centre on a permanent, full time basis.

This position will provide clinical leadership to ensure the centre provides a seamless experience for patients undergoing chemo and infusion therapy.

The role will cover the following responsibilities:

  • Clinical Expertise and Patient Management: Oversee the administration of chemotherapy and infusion treatments, ensuring safe, effective, and personalized care for patients. This includes monitoring patients’ responses to treatment, managing side effects, and providing ongoing support throughout their therapy journey.
  • Education and Consultation: Act as a resource for both patients and healthcare staff, providing expert advice on chemotherapy protocols, infusion practices, and managing complex cases. This includes educating patients about their treatment plans and ensuring nursing staff are trained in the latest chemotherapy and infusion techniques.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum 6 year’s previous experience in a chemotherapy day unit setting
  • Clinical leadership experience, preferably in a similar role (coordinator or CNS also considered)
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of chemotherapy agents, safe administration and waste management.
  • Experience and Proficiency in cannulation and CVAD management.
  • The Ability to demonstrate critical and strategic thinking

CNS Oncology – Casual 

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist – Oncology to work on a casual basis.

This position will provide expert knowledge and support to ensure the centre provides a seamless experience for patients undergoing chemo and infusion therapy.

The role will cover the following responsibilities:

  • Advanced Patient Care and Assessment: Provide expert nursing care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and infusion treatments. This includes comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualized care plans, and ensuring safe administration of therapies while managing any adverse reactions or complications.
  • Clinical Leadership and Research: Lead initiatives to improve clinical practices related to chemotherapy and infusions, including conducting research, implementing evidence-based practices, and mentoring other nurses to enhance patient outcomes and treatment effectiveness.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 5–6 years of experience in a chemotherapy day unit setting.
  • CNS experience, or equivalent, with at least 3–4 years as an oncology specialist nurse.

Ability to demonstrate critical and strategic thinking.

Registered Nurse – Oncology – Permanent Part Time

We are looking for an experienced RN Oncology nurse to work on a permanent part time basis, 3 days per week. We are also open to casual work.

This position will provide clinical leadership to ensure the centre provides a seamless experience for patients undergoing chemo and infusion therapy.

The role will cover the following responsibilities:

  • Administration of Chemotherapy and Infusions: Safely administer chemotherapy and infusion treatments, ensuring proper dosage, monitoring for side effects, and adhering to protocols for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and self-care strategies. Provide emotional support and ensure patients understand their treatment plans and follow-up care.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemotherapy day unit setting.
  • RN experience with at least 2-3 years in oncology or infusion work .
  • Ability to demonstrate critical and strategic thinking.

Volunteers

Volunteers are an important part of our team at Lakeview Private Hospital. With a deep commitment to the philosophy of Patients First, Lakeview Private Hospital seeks to create an exceptional and seamless patient experience. We are currently looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who can live out this philosophy. Some of the duties include coordinating reading material, assisting with flower arrangements and simply providing company.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age, provide at least two references and complete a Working with Children Check as part of the application process. Volunteer experience in a similar role will be looked on favorably although it is not essential.
