Lakeview is currently recruiting the following positions:

Physiotherapist – Casual or Permanent , 6 month minimum contract

An opportunity exists for highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapists to work on either a casual basis or permanent full time basis for 6 months. If casual, then 25% loading will apply and regular guaranteed weekly hours across 5 days will be offered.

An opportunity to become permanent after 6 months will be available for the right candidate and/or ongoing casual work.

The role involves working with inpatients and day program patients to aid in their recovery. This will involve gym work and hydrotherapy.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

    • Current relevant registration with AHPRA
    • Qualification: Degree or post graduate qualification in Physiotherapy
    • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience and hospital experience will be highly regarded
    • To be able to plan, implement and evaluate Physiotherapy treatment programmes
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage case load demands
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
    • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
    • Commitment to professional development  and current evidence based practice
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ward Clerk – Endoscopy

  • Opportunities exist for highly candidates our Endoscopy and Recovery departments in the position of Ward Clerk. We have full time and part time roles available.Candidates will need to be available for the afternoon shift, Mondays to Fridays from 11am to 7.30pm.The main responsibilities of the role will be:
    • Contributing to the overall customer service experience of the patients.
    • Maintain a high standard of administration support which includes stationary supplies,  record keeping, accurate data entry and printing of admission packs.
    • To deal with enquiries, including telephone enquiries, in conjunction with, and under the direction of nursing staff.
    • To ensure the day-to-day maintenance of patient medical records and supporting documentation required during their treatment
    • To arrange transport for patients being transferred to other hospitals or discharged home.
    • Being the first point of contact for patients when arriving for their sessions and ensuring the relevant paperwork is completed.

    To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

    • Must have a detailed understanding and demonstrated experience of a Ward Clerk position
    • Demonstrated experience in a medical setting, preferably a similar role in a Hospital environment.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information into the patient information system
    • Computer Literacy
    • Excellent telephone manner
    • Experience with epas preferable.

Social Worker / Discharge Planner

  • An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker / Discharge Planner  to work on a 6 month maternity cover part time basis. At this stage, the role part time 19 hours per week across 3 daysIt would therefore be an ideal role for candidates seeking family friendly working hours. The work is predominantly across our rehabilitation areas.You will provide counselling and discharge planning services to patients and be responsible for:
    • Providing expert clinical advice to patients, carers or other health professionals. This may include counselling, providing information regarding transfer of care services and assistance with the discharge planning process.
    • Developing, facilitating, implementing and evaluating appropriate discharge plans and with appropriate support.
    • Liaising with DVA members during their inpatient stay
    • Meeting the needs of patients across the surgical ward, inpatient rehabilitation and day program rehabilitation.

     

    Essential Criteria:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work
    • Demonstrated ability to provide a case management model of care
    • A sound understanding of patients’ individual needs to co-ordinate a safe discharge process
    • Experience in providing counselling
    • A sound knowledge of local networks, facilities and service providers which support patients on discharge
    • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
    • High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

RNs – Endoscopy 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in Endoscopy or a Day Surgery Unit predominantly involving Endoscopy.
  • Be accustomed with the different procedures in Endoscopy.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the function, use, care, maintenance and trouble shooting of the different types and models of Flexible Endoscopes, and Automated Flexible Endoscopic Reprocessors.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
  • The completion of (or working towards) HICMR or GENCA Fundamental of Reprocessing Workshop including the Practical Skills Assessment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing or Gastroenterology Nursing will be highly regarded.

RNs – Scrub/Scouts 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years experience in Theatres
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
  • Must currently work in the OT setting with a minimum 2 years of experience. Must be familiar with scouting for multiple case types e.g. ortho, gynae, colorectal, bariatrics, general etc
  • Experience in ICU, Emergency, or HDU will be highly regarded as well as Current Advance Life Support training
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; the ability to engage positively with all stakeholders
  • Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards
  • Hold a passport or visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.

RNS Anaesthetic and Recovery

Essential Criteria

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience in Recovery, Anaesthetics or Theatres.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
  • Highly regarded – Graduate Certificate in Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing or working towards
  • Experience in ICU, Emergency, or HDU will be highly regarded as well as Current Advance Life Support training
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; the ability to engage positively with all stakeholders

Porters / Wardspersons

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Lift and transfer patients by wheelchair, trolley, bed or walking escort.
  • Position, reposition and support patients as required. This includes assisting nursing staff & physiotherapists with patient transfers and safe manual handling.
  • Assist nursing staff with pressure area rounds and manoeuvring patients in or out of bed.
  • Assist departments to maintain clean, ordered, professional and efficient work areas with a particular focus on cleaning, stock management, equipment set up, moving of theatre tables and/or general theatre equipment as directed.
  • Monitor levels of cylinder oxygen and other cylinder medical gases.
  • Clean operating room floor as required and remove clinical waste, including the removal of waste from clinical areas and general waste
  • Maintain, change linen supplies, blankets, linen bags and general waste management
  • Tidying of male and female change rooms
  • Undertake routine stock maintenance

Essential criteria:

  • Previous work experience

Volunteers

Volunteers are an important part of our team at Lakeview Private Hospital. With a deep commitment to the philosophy of Patients First, Lakeview Private Hospital seeks to create an exceptional and seamless patient experience. We are currently looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who can live out this philosophy. Some of the duties include coordinating reading material, assisting with flower arrangements and simply providing company.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age, provide at least two references and complete a Working with Children Check as part of the application process. Volunteer experience in a similar role will be looked on favorably although it is not essential.

During the COVID period our volunteer program is suspended. When restrictions ease we will reopen our application process for prospective volunteers.
