Lakeview is currently recruiting the following positions:

RNs – Scrub/Scouts 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years experience in Theatres
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
  • Must currently work in the OT setting with a minimum 2 years of experience. Must be familiar with scouting for multiple case types e.g. ortho, gynae, colorectal, bariatrics, general etc
  • Experience in ICU, Emergency, or HDU will be highly regarded as well as Current Advance Life Support training
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; the ability to engage positively with all stakeholders
  • Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards
  • Hold a passport or visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.

AIN / Reprocessor – Endoscopy Unit

In the AIN / Reprocessor role candidates will apply skills to deliver optimum care to meet patient needs with a specific focus on reprocessing activities that include the following:

  • maintaining inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies,
  • performing safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning,
  • preparing Reprocessing rooms according to endoscopic procedure requirements.
  • clean, disinfect, or sterilize endoscopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards.

To be considered for these roles you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in an Endoscopy Unit
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
  • Knowledge of current GENCA standards, AS/NZS 4187
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards
  • Hold permanent resident or work status.
  • TAFE Certificate III in Health Services/Acute Care OR enrolled in 2nd year of university in nursing studies.

RNS Anaesthetic and Recovery

Essential Criteria

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience in Recovery, Anaesthetics or Theatres.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
  • Highly regarded – Graduate Certificate in Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing or working towards
  • Experience in ICU, Emergency, or HDU will be highly regarded as well as Current Advance Life Support training
  • Demonstrated understanding of current relevant guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Candidates with a postgraduate qualification (or currently working towards one) in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded.

Porters / Wardspersons

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Lift and transfer patients by wheelchair, trolley, bed or walking escort.
  • Position, reposition and support patients as required. This includes assisting nursing staff & physiotherapists with patient transfers and safe manual handling.
  • Assist nursing staff with pressure area rounds and manoeuvring patients in or out of bed.
  • Assist departments to maintain clean, ordered, professional and efficient work areas with a particular focus on cleaning, stock management, equipment set up, moving of theatre tables and/or general theatre equipment as directed.
  • Monitor levels of cylinder oxygen and other cylinder medical gases.
  • Clean operating room floor as required and remove clinical waste, including the removal of waste from clinical areas and general waste
  • Maintain, change linen supplies, blankets, linen bags and general waste management
  • Tidying of male and female change rooms
  • Undertake routine stock maintenance

  • Previous work experience
  • Desirable – experience in a similar role or demonstrated capacity to learn
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, a self-starting attitude

  • Genuine passion to serve HSS patients and create an outstanding quality of care

Volunteers

Volunteers are an important part of our team at Lakeview Private Hospital. With a deep commitment to the philosophy of Patients First, Lakeview Private Hospital seeks to create an exceptional and seamless patient experience. We are currently looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who can live out this philosophy. Some of the duties include coordinating reading material, assisting with flower arrangements and simply providing company.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age, provide at least two references and complete a Working with Children Check as part of the application process. Volunteer experience in a similar role will be looked on favorably although it is not essential.

During the COVID period our volunteer program is suspended. When restrictions ease we will reopen our application process for prospective volunteers.
