Dr Eric Chai is a comprehensive Ophthalmologist who is committed to the provision of the highest quality, personalised eye care for his patients.
He has sub-specialty expertise in Glaucoma and small incision Cataract surgery. Dr Chai has particular interests in angle closure glaucoma, low pressure glaucoma, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and optimising individualised outcomes from cataract surgery. He also has an interest in the provision of eye care in the third world through the Myanmar Eye Care Project.
A medical graduate of the University of Sydney, he completed his Ophthalmic training at the Sydney Eye Hospital and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He has completed a Fellowship in Glaucoma at Cheltenham and Gloucester, UK.
Currently, Dr Chai is a Clinical Lecturer and Visiting Medical Officer at Macquarie University Hospital where he is involved in the training of medical students at the Macquarie University Medical School. Throughout his career, Dr Chai has been active in the continuing professional development of Optometrists and GPs.
