Dr Norman Blumenthal

MB. BCh, FRANZCOG, MRCOG, M.Sc. (Med)

Dr Norman Blumenthal is an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist practicing in the North Western Suburbs of Sydney. His special interests include advanced complex laparoscopic surgery, management of prolapse and all forms of incontinence. Norman is VMO Norwest Private and SAN Hospitals, VMO Blacktown and Westmead Hospitals and Senior Lecturer at Notre Dame and Western Sydney Universities.

A/Prof Elisabeth Elder

MBBS, PhD, FRACS

A/Prof Elisabeth Elder is a specialist breast surgeon at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute and Lakeside Specialist Breast Clinic at Lakeview Private Hospital, and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. She has a special interest in oncoplastic breast surgery and immediate reconstructions and long experience in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer as well as benign breast disease in a holistic and
multidisciplinary way. Elisabeth graduated from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden in 1992, where she also completed her surgical training and a PhD in tumour biology in 2002. She is chair of the oncoplastic committee of BreastSurgANZ and council member of Breast Surgeons International.

Dr James French

MBBS (hons) FRACS

Dr French is a specialist Breast Surgeon at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute where he is the head of Breast Surgery. He is chair of both a private and public multidisciplinary team, and has been at the forefront of the development and implementation of many oncoplastic surgical techniques. James has particular interests in therapeutic mammoplasty and immediate implant based breast reconstruction. In addition, he is an enthusiastic teacher and has contributed to over 40 peer reviewed papers. He is a co-owner of Lakeside Specialist Breast
Clinic that concentrates on providing high quality, comprehensive interdisciplinary care to patients with breast cancer.

Dr Peter Laniewski

MB BS (UNSW), FRACS (Plast), FRACS (Gen)

Dr Peter Laniewski is an Australian born and trained plastic surgeon. In addition to his Australian fellowships in plastic surgery and general surgery, he holds a fellowship from the prestigious Royal Marsden Hospital in London in breast reconstruction. While his expertise lies in DIEP flap and implants, breast reconstruction and all types of breast surgery, he also has a special interest in rhinoplasty and post bariatric surgery (body contouring). He also has interests in all aspects of hand surgery. Peter holds public appointments as a VMO at Auburn and Westmead Public Hospitals.

Dr Kim Matthews

Dr Kim Matthews is a reproductive gynaecologist and paediatric/adolescent gynaecologist. Kim practices at Monash IVF Parramatta and the Children’s Hospital Westmead. Her passion is providing quality fertility care for couples, particularly in areas where there has been a history of childhood illnesses.

Naveen-Somia

Dr Naveen Somia

Dr Somia is a Sydney Plastic Surgeon who is a VMO at Westmead, Prince of Wales and Sydney Children’s Hospital. He is the Vice President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) and a Senior Lecturer, University of Sydney. Naveen completed his Medical Degree in India and his Plastic Surgery training in Melbourne and Sydney. He completed a PhD in the US, based on Eyelid Surgery Research into Eyelid Reanimation in Facial Nerve Paralysis. After his FRACS in  Plastic Surgery, Naveen underwent advanced training in Cosmetic Eyelid and Breast Surgery in Atlanta, at the Emory Aesthetic Clinic @ Paces, an Emory University affiliated institution.

Dr Anbu Anpalagan completed his training through Westmead Hospital. He has obtained a laparoscopic surgical fellowship through Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery group. Anbu is a training supervisor for RANZCOG, a VMO at Lakeview Private Hospital, Westmead Private, Norwest Private and Westmead Public hospitals.

A/Prof Peter Benny is a subspecialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility with extensive experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. Peter is currently Medical Director of Monash IVF Parramatta and NSW, and Chairman of the examination committee of Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility for the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Peter provides expertise in all aspects of modern infertility and reproductive endocrinology.

Dr Farid Meybodi

Dr Farid Meybodi is a specialist breast surgeon at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute and Lakeside Specialist Breast Clinic at Lakeview Private Hospital,and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. Farid has a special interest in improving outcome in post mastectomy implant based breast reconstruction and oncoplastic breast surgery. He is also involved in the teaching of surgical registrars, postgraduate fellows and medical students at the University of Sydney.
