Dr Kim Matthews is a retired Gynaecologist whose working life focused on fertility and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.
She graduated from Sydney University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1988. She studied Obstetrics and Gynaecology based at Westmead hospital and worked and trained in the western suburbs for the majority of her career and has been involved with Lakeview Private Hospital since its inception.
Her passion was fertility after childhood illness and her public appointment was at the Children’s Hospital Westmead for 30 years which gave her a love of the multidisciplinary approach.
She also helped run a fertility clinic, Next Generation Fertility for nearly 10 years and stood by her stance that there are many ways to have a family and it takes a village to raise a child.
Dr Matthews was also involved with the Medical Advisory Committee at Lakeview Private Hospital for many years acting as Chairperson for several of those years. This enhanced my passion for governance and striving for the best patient outcomes.
She also worked as Medical Director of Monash IVF NSW during the covid pandemic, before her retirement in 2022.
Dr Matthews hopes to bring this breadth of experience to the Lakeview board with her recent election as a director of the board.
