General respiratory medicine

Dr Charith Horadagoda is a consultant respiratory physician with expertise in respiratory medicine, particularly in the areas of pulmonary physiology, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He is dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients.

Dr Horadagoda completed his medical education with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2007. Subsequently, he obtained the AMC Certificate from the Australian Medical Council in 2009.

His journey in respiratory medicine led him to complete his training in the field at prominent hospitals such as Westmead and Liverpool Hospitals. This comprehensive training equipped him with the knowledge and skills required to manage a wide range of respiratory conditions effectively.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Horadagoda is actively engaged in academic pursuits. He is currently pursuing a PhD with the University of Sydney, where his research focuses on the physiology of the upper respiratory tract. As a conjoint clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney, he also contributes to medical education and research efforts.

Dr Horadagoda’s practice encompasses various aspects of general respiratory medicine, with a special emphasis on respiratory diseases like asthma and chronic bronchitis. He is known for his personalised and comprehensive approach to patient care, working closely with general practitioners to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients.

Fluent in Sinhala, Dr Horadagoda is committed to effective communication with his patients. He believes in the importance of clear and concise explanations, allowing patients to fully understand their condition and treatment options.
