A/Prof Pathma-Nathan is an experienced colorectal and general surgeon who has worked in the area for more than 15 years. He studied medicine at Sydney University graduating with honours in 1992 and completed his residency at Westmead hospital before commencing training in General Surgery on the Western Sydney rotation. He received the FRACS qualification in 2000 whereupon he was selected for post fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery and completed his training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.
In 2010 A/Prof Prathma-Nathan obtained his Masters of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology through Sydney University and has been involved in clinical research at Westmead and supervises several ongoing studies.
A/Prof Pathma-Nathan is a Senior Staff Specialist at Westmead Hospital and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer for Sydney University and teaches students, registrars and fellows.
An expert in all facets of colorectal surgery, A/Prof Pathma-Nathan has a special interest in colorectal malignancy, laparoscopic surgery and anorectal surgery. He is able to perform almost all types of surgery and colonoscopy at Lakeview Private Hospital; and is pleased to provide multidisciplinary care as part of a large group colorectal practice, the Sydney Colorectal Group, with rooms at Lakeview Private Hospital.
