Dr Shahidi is an Australian trained and qualified specialist surgeon in facial plastic and ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery. He has received the highest qualification awarded to Australian surgeons, Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), in recognition of his intense academic and advanced surgical training. He is also a member of the Australian Academy of Facial Plastic surgery. His primary interest and area of expertise is rhinoplasty surgery; and he treats all aspects of nasal and sinus pathology and disease.
It has always been Dr Shahidi’s desire to help people; and medicine and surgery have provided that path.
On completion of his medical and research degree with the University of Sydney, he commenced his internship and basic surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. On completion of his second year of advanced general surgical training, he started training in the Otorhinolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery program. After a further four years of intensive study, he completed his Fellowship of the College of Surgeons; followed by the Fellowship of Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in Sydney.
Dr Shahidi completed two mini fellowships in facial plastic surgery in Oregon and Indianapolis, USA; this was followed by attendance at the workshop in rhinoplasty surgery in Chicago. He then travelled to the UK, where he was a Clinical Fellow in rhinology and rhinoplasty surgery, based at Charing Cross Hospital in London and also at Royal United Hospital in Bath. Both positions demanded an expert working knowledge of surgical techniques and their application to nasal and sinus anatomy and pathology.
Dr Shahidi has enjoyed mentorship and developed expertise alongside some of the world’s leaders in rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery; and is now based in Australia.
