Dr Shadi Faraj is a qualified Surgical Oncologist, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon and an Endoscopist. A Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand.
He completed his surgical training at Westmead Hospital. Post-fellowship, he undertook subspecialty training in surgical oncology (thyroid/soft tissue tumours), and breast surgery at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, which is internationally renowned for excellence in these fields due to the high volume of procedures performed at this centre.
Areas of particular interest include:
• Thyroid/parathyroid surgery
• Breast surgery
• Soft tissue tumours
• Skin cancers
He also performs laparoscopic surgery (gallbladder, hernia) and is GESA accredited to perform routine endoscopic diagnostic procedures (gastroscopy and colonoscopy).
Dr Faraj is a Visiting Medical Officer at Lakeview Private Hospital and also operates at Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Westmead Private and St John of God (Hawkesbury) Hospitals.
Dr Faraj is fluent in Russian and Arabic.
