Dr Sara Wu is a Specialist Breast and General Surgeon with an expert interest in oncoplastic breast reconstructive techniques.
Dr Wu earned her undergraduate degree in Medical Science from the University of New South Wales. She then worked as a research assistant at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research before entering the Graduate Medical Program at the University of Sydney. Dr Wu completed her Intern and Residency years at Bankstown Hospital before entering the General Surgery training program. Her surgical training spanned across several hospitals in New South Wales, including John Hunter Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, and Campbelltown Hospital. After completing the surgical training program, Dr Wu was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
Dr Wu was selected for the Breast Surgery Post Fellowship Training Program through Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand (BreastSurgANZ). She completed her fellowship at Gosford Hospital and the prestigious Breast Cancer Institute at Westmead Hospital. Durning this training Dr Wu gained expertise in advanced breast oncoplastic reconstruction techniques as part of breast cancer treatments.
